What exactly is free speech? Is it the exchange of ideas unencumbered by consequences? Are there limits that should exist? What does it mean to engage with unpopular speech?
In an increasingly polarized world, sharing our personal opinions can be scary. Personal viewpoints, mob mentality and professional consequences can all have chilling effects on our ability to speak freely.
This dialogue will explore the reality of free speech alongside questions of personal freedom, cancel culture, individual disagreement and accountability. Together, we will explore what it means for each of us to engage in free speech, what our personal boundaries are and what those boundaries might mean as we look to engage across our viewpoint differences.
