We are excited to announce that the Office of Community Wellbeing and Health Promotion will be bringing back one of our time honored traditions, National Alcohol Screening Day (NASD), for the first time since 2020! NASD is a campus wide screening day event that looks to promote safer substance use, harm reduction strategies, and connect students who are looking for additional resources and supportive services.
To participate drop by the Dana Center (Carleton Room) Tuesday March 26th from 1pm – 4pm or the Student Center (Back Bay A) on Thursday March 28th from 1pm – 4pm. No matter your age or drinking habits, all students are welcomed! Free snacks and mocktails will be provided.
Students who attend NASD we will get to pick one of two ways they can participate. Please know that your surveys will be collected but no names will be recorded:
- Student can complete an anonymous survey and then meet with a screener one-on-one to privately review your survey results and discuss safer substance use strategies you can try
- Students can complete an anonymous online assessment that will email you a personalized feedback report. You can take the survey in advance or stop by the event to take it then.
The first 100 students who do the in person screening option will get to pick between a $5 Dunkin gift card, Camelbak water bottle or a hat (while supplies last). All participants can be entered into a raffle for a Nintendo Switch Lite, JBL Portable Speaker, Bentley Sweatshirts, Squishmallows, Red Sox Tickets and more! In person participants will get 3 raffle tickets after their screening and online participants will get 2 raffle tickets after showing their certificate of completion.
