City-Wide Chapters
Bentley recognizes two culturally based city-wide chapters as a part of our FSL community. Both organizations are historically Black women’s sororities. Bentley is listed as one of a few colleges on their charter, meaning that students from multiple schools in the Greater Boston area can join these organizations alongside Bentley students. Please connect with SP&E for more information on these organizations and how to get involved in them!
- Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. (Epsilon Chapter)
- Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. (Xi Tau Chapter)
Unrecognized Organizations
Only those organizations listed above have Bentley University recognition and approval to operate. Community members should be aware that the organizations listed below do not have university recognition or permission to operate.
- Kappa Pi Alpha (KPA) was expelled from campus in 2013 and is not recognized or supported by Bentley University.
- Alpha Sigma Phi (ASP or Alpha Sig) lost recognition in June 2019 following suspension and the subsequent revocation of its charter by its headquarters.
Unrecognized groups have no affiliation with or supervision by the University, do not follow the standards set for recognized groups, and their members do not participate in relevant health, wellness, and safety trainings.
