An Ode to Summer

Caps off, stress drops, time to unwind,
Bentley grads leave long lectures behind.
Some chase sunshine, relax and recharge,
Some tackle summer courses, still aiming large.

It’s break time—or grind time—whatever they choose!

Advisors Corner: Make the Most of Your Summer Classes ☀️

Summer courses move fast, but they’re also a great opportunity to build momentum and stay on track toward your goals. A strong summer can set you up for an even smoother fall.

Stay engaged, even when it’s busy
With shorter timelines, every class session and assignment counts. Try to stay present and participate when you can, even in online formats. Asking questions, contributing to discussions, and connecting with classmates can make a big difference in understanding the material and feeling more connected.

Create a simple system to stay organized
A quick weekly plan can go a long way. At the start of each week, map out key deadlines, readings, and assignments so nothing sneaks up on you. Keeping everything in one place helps you stay focused and reduces last-minute stress.

Keep the momentum going
It’s easy to lose energy during the summer months, especially with travel, work, or family commitments. Set small, realistic goals each week to stay consistent. Even a little progress each day keeps you moving forward and builds confidence over time.

Don’t go it alone
If you start to feel overwhelmed, reach out early. Whether it’s your advisor, a professor, or campus resources, support is there to help you stay on track.

You’ve already built strong habits this year—keep them going. A little consistency this summer can make a big impact on your overall progress.
