This edition of The Grad Insider features upcoming events, important academic deadlines, opportunities to get involved, advisor insights, and resources to help you start the semester strong.

Welcome to Fall 2026!

The Fall 2026 semester begins next week, and we’re so excited to welcome our new and returning graduate students! As you prepare to kick off the semester, here are a few things to keep in mind:

  • Log in to Brightspace: Review your course syllabi, assignments, required materials, and any other information your professors have posted.
  • Explore CampusGroups & HireGrad: Check out upcoming events, workshops, and networking opportunities to get involved and connect with the graduate community. (See Grad Horizon below as well!)
  • Review the academic calendar: Take note of important academic dates and deadlines throughout the semester. (See the Dates to Remember section below for upcoming academic dates.)
  • Check your Bentley email: Stay up to date on important information and messages from your professors, and don’t forget to look out for the latest editions of The Grad Insider and Grad Connect!
    • New this fall, Grad Connect is a dedicated 5:00–6:15 p.m. engagement period before evening classes. Look out for opportunities to connect, network, build career skills, explore leadership, and get connected with campus resources!

9/2/2026 - Last day to add/swap a six-week first session course 
9/6/2026 - Last day to add/swap a full semester course 
9/6/2026 - Last day to drop full semester courses for 100% refund 
9/6/2026 - Last day to apply for Fall degree completion 
9/7/2026 -  Labor Day: University offices closed, no classes 
9/14/2026 - Last day to drop a full semester course without a W Grade

Advisors Corner: The Importance of Getting Involved

It can be easy to feel like your graduate school journey is a solo venture, but it’s important (and rewarding!) to build community throughout your academic career. Get to know your faculty and staff members along with your classmates; and don’t be shy about getting involved. Bentley has a vibrant graduate community and offers plenty of social and professional opportunities. Grad school is what you make of it, so make it count! 


Every graduate student has a story worth sharing. Whether you or a fellow graduate student has completed an internship, led a project, conducted research, or reached a personal milestone, we’d love to highlight your experience in our Student Spotlight, now called "Grads on the Rise".
