Advisor’s Corner: Finals Survival Skills

Feeling the pressure during these last two weeks of the term? Your advisors have you covered! Check out these survival skills guaranteed to get you mentally and physically prepared to conquer the end of the semester.

1. Feeling stuck while studying or working on a final paper? Change study locations! Sometimes a change of scenery can help shift your mindset, too.

2. Build in time for breaks. Pushing through an assignment just to finish can lead to typos, mistakes, or the addition of extraneous information. Stepping away for a short break can help reset your mind and give you a fresh perspective.

3. Teach someone what you’re learning. Think you understand your study materials? Try explaining it to someone else! Teaching someone else the information demonstrates a higher level of comprehension.

4. Believe in yourself! You know more than you think you do. Be confident in your abilities and how far you’ve come – you've got this!
