The Bentley Alternative Investments Group (BAIG) aims to supplement the student body's understanding of alternative investments by providing a forum for students to learn more. The intention of BAIG is to spread awareness and knowledge about alternative assets through guest speakers and industry-leading experts. The assets BAIG will explore include private equity, hedge funds, private credit, real estate, commodities, cryptos, luxury items, etc. As finance is the fastest-growing major on campus and alternatives are one of the fastest-growing segments of finance, BAIG wants to position itself to capitalize on an increasing interest in alternative investments.

Bentley Investment Group
The Bentley Investment Group (BIG) is a student organization responsible for managing a portion of Bentley University's endowment. The fund originated in 1997 with an original allocation of $250K and has grown to more than $1.4 million in AUM under the group's financial decisions. Today, BIG is one of the largest Student Managed Investment Funds (SMIF) in the nation by membership size, with over 1,600 registered members on Campus Groups and more than 60 analysts and portfolio managers. The group’s goals are to achieve capital appreciation for the portfolio while providing an educational experience to members. BIG seeks to run as a long-only equity fund focusing on investment exposure to intermediate and large capitalization companies allocated across seven industries. Using an active fundamental investment approach, BIG adds value to the investment process by making weighted decisions in sectors and individual securities.
