Read below to learn more about how recruitment works in each council.

Interfraternity Council

The Interfraternity Council (IFC) hosts a two week long semi-structured recruitment each semester. Recruitment begins the second week of classes with on campus events, giving students the chance to meet each chapter. After the recruitment events, chapters will extend bids (invitations to membership) to potential new members. Please note that not all potential new members may receive a bid.

First year students may not participate in recruitment events during their first semester on campus. Students interested in participating in IFC Recruitment must meet all requirements listed in The Basics section above and must complete recruitment registration here.

Panhellenic Council

The Panhellenic Council hosts a

fully-structured primary recruitment process each spring semester. This process takes place during the second weekend following the start of spring semester classes.

During primary recruitment, potential new members will visit all four sorority chapters throughout three rounds of structured events. Through a mutual selection process, students and chapters prioritize finding their best fit. Please note that not all potential new members may receive a bid.

There is a more informal Continuous Open Bidding (COB) process that takes place each fall semester. Please note that not all chapters may be eligible to participate in this process and first year students may not participate in the COB process during their first semester on campus.

Students interested in participating in Panhellenic Primary (Formal) Recruitment or COB must meet all requirements listed in The Basics section above and must complete recruitment registration here.

Business & Service Fraternities

Business and service fraternities are co-educational organizations that host their own structured recruitment processes throughout the first month of each semester. Each organization will share their recruitment schedules via CampusGroups events and social media posts prior to the start of each semester.

First year students may not participate in recruitment events during their first semester on campus. Students interested in participating in business or service fraternity recruitment must meet all requirements listed in The Basics section above and must complete recruitment registration here.
